Well, to be fair creepy and bloodbath are not neccessarily connected - Dead Alive might have been the worlds greatest bloodbath when it was released, but I was laughing the whole time...

Some Ed

To be fair, you have a point. The 300 was not creepy, but it was a bloodbath.

But we know what movie he took her to. It wasn't just any bloodbath, but an Alien movie. I'm not aware of any of them that isn't unambiguously creepy. Sure, there are people who aren't creeped out by them. But the movie series was designed to be creepy. In order to not be creeped out by them, you either need to keep from being drawn into the movie, or you need a pathologically low level of empathy. Megan very clearly belongs to the set of film viewers who wants to be drawn into the movie, and has decent empathy. So I don't really see Sean's position as particularly defensible. He took her to it with either the standard male bravado, with the hope that she'd jump into his arms for safety, or with a concerning lack of regard for her as a person. Either way, he's an ass. She gave clear instructions, and he clearly ignored them.
